The short version
- We keep each team admin's name and WhatsApp number, so we can ask about games and send login links.
- The public site shows team names, dates, grounds and scores, never names or phone numbers, and only for teams that chose to be listed.
- We don't sell anyone's details, and we don't use them for advertising.
- The public site sets no cookies of its own. Google's ads use cookies only if you say yes; say no and nothing of Google's loads.
- A photo or PDF of a fixture list is read by an AI service to draft the games, which you check before anything is saved.
What we keep, and why
- Team admins (PROs): name, WhatsApp number, which teams you help run and your role (owner or admin), when you agreed to Sontaga's messages, and whether you want community messages. This is how we know who to ask about a game, and who may answer for a team.
- Teams: the team's name, its village or town, its fixtures, each side's Yes or No (who answered and when), and the scores both sides report.
- The other team's PRO: a fixture list can include the opponent's contact person and number. We keep them with that game only, to ask whether they can come. If that is you and you'd rather we didn't, tell us (see Questions).
- Messages: a copy of each WhatsApp message we send and receive, and whether it was delivered and read. It shows what was asked and answered when a game is in doubt.
- Fixture lists: the file you upload or send, kept as the record of that season's import.
- Payments: the amount, the mobile money wallet and number it came from, and its reference, so we can match it to your team.
- Sign-ups on this site: your internet address, for a short time, to stop people sending many sign-ups at once.
What the public site shows
Only teams whose owner chose to be listed appear on sontaga.com. A game shows only when every listed team in it has agreed to it. We show team names, villages and towns, dates, grounds, kick-off times and scores: never anyone's name or phone number.
The public site sets no cookies of its own. Sontaga's own sponsors' adverts are counted per day by Sontaga's own links, without knowing who you are. Where no sponsor has booked a page, Google may show an ad, but only if you said yes (see Google ads).
If you switch on dark mode, that choice stays in your own browser. Team admins who log in get one cookie that keeps them logged in.
Who else sees it
- WhatsApp (Meta) carries every message between Sontaga and you.
- AI services: when a fixture list isn't Sontaga's own template (a photo of a poster, a PDF, a club's own spreadsheet), we send it to Anthropic's Claude to read, or to OpenAI if Claude can't. The list can include names and numbers of other teams' PROs. They use it only to draft the games for you to check; under their terms for business use, they don't train their AI on it. Both companies are in the United States. Sontaga's own template is never sent to them.
- Mobile money providers (Orange Money, MyZaka, Smega) see the payments you make to Sontaga.
- Google, only if you allow its ads on sontaga.com: Google sets cookies in your browser to choose ads and count them, under Google's own policy. Google never gets any team admin's details from us.
- Sontaga's own staff see teams, games, messages and payments, to help when something goes wrong.
We don't share anyone's details with other teams or sponsors.
Your choices
- Community messages (news and offers from Sontaga): send STOP to turn them off, or COMMUNITY to turn them back on. Each admin chooses for themselves.
- The public site: the team owner can take the team off sontaga.com at any time, on the team page.
- Leaving a team: the team owner can remove an admin on the team page.
- Google ads on the public site: change it here (needs JavaScript). Turning them off takes effect on the next page you open.
- See, correct or delete your details: message us on WhatsApp. Messages about your team's games are how Sontaga works, so to stop those, leave the team or ask us to remove you.
How long we keep it
We keep your details while your team is on Sontaga. A fixture list that was never confirmed is deleted after 14 days. A file sent on WhatsApp is deleted from our server as soon as it has been read; only the games you confirmed are kept.
If you ask us to delete your details, we remove your name and number. The games your team played and their scores stay, with team names only, as the record of those games.
